Wred Fright conducted pre-bout interviews with the two combatants.
The Masked Professor stormed out of the locker room wearing his graduation
gown warm-up robe, searching the audience for co-eds and alcohol!
Referee King Wenclas explained the rules of the 3-round poetry
read-off to the Student (pictured at right) and the Masked Professor.
Competition was intense. The Masked Professor prevailed in
Round One, despite a strong flurry of verbal body blows
delivered by an intense and focused Student
The Student (aka Brady Russell) took Round Two,
gaining momentum and crowd support. No one had
known what to expect from this young challenger,
but by the end of the night he had earned a spot in
the Annals of ULA history.
But the Masked Prof proved his mettle, defeating the young challenger in
Round 3, despite dropping his sheet of poems and wasting valuable seconds off
his allotted time. The MP walked away with the Billy the Big Mouth Bass Trophy,
a coveted prize generously donated by Crazy Carl Robinson and Wred Fright.
